50 mm square button badge
A 50 mm square button badge is a square pin-back badge with a 5 mm corner radius. The finished face is 50 mm, the die cut is 61 mm, and the safe zone is 46 mm.
The die cut is 61 × 61 mm. The bleed is 5.5 mm on each side, from the 50 × 50 mm face out to the die cut. The safe margin is 2 mm inside the face, so names and faces stay inside the 46 × 46 mm safe zone.
| Line | Size | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Die cut | 61 × 61 mm | The machine cuts the paper on this line. |
| Finished face | 50 × 50 mm | What a person sees after the piece is pressed. |
| Bleed | 5.5 mm on each side | Background runs from the finished face out to the die cut. If it stops short, the edge prints white. |
| Safe margin | 2 mm inside the face | Names and faces stay inside the 46 × 46 mm safe zone. |
Bad example. The name is cut off because it crosses the 46 × 46 mm safe zone. The colour stops at the finished face, so the bleed prints white.
Good example. The name is kept inside the 46 × 46 mm safe zone. The colour runs across the bleed to the 61 × 61 mm die cut.
